AlgoTrade Prop Guard for MT5
Want the same checks running on your MetaTrader 5 account? AlgoTrade Prop Guard tracks your daily and max loss in real time, warns you near a limit, then closes your positions and pauses trading. It includes templates for popular prop firms, or you can set your own numbers. Available on the MQL5 Market.
See it on the MQL5 MarketProp firm consistency rule calculator
Many prop firms say no single day may make more than a set share of your total profit (for example 20% or 40%). Enter your best day and your total profit, or paste your daily results, and see if you pass and how much more profit you need if you do not.
How to use it
- Look up your firm's consistency limit (the largest share of profit one day may make).
- Enter your best day and your total profit, or paste your daily results from your trade history.
- Pick how your firm counts total profit: net of all days, or winning days only.
- If you do not pass, the table shows the total profit you need at each common limit without a bigger best day.
How it works
Daily floor
Start-of-day value minus the daily limit. If equity touches it, the day's rule is broken.
Max floor
Account size minus the max loss (static), or your highest value minus the max loss (trailing).
Room left
Equity now minus the higher of the two floors. Open floating loss counts, because the check uses equity.
Why EAs fail challenges
A grid or martingale EA can sit on a large open loss for hours. Because the limits are checked on equity, the challenge can fail while no trade is closed. The grid calculator shows how deep that open loss can go, and the prop check tests a full record against your firm's rules. To test an MT5 report or CSV day by day against FTMO rules, use the prop rule check.
Questions
What is the difference between static and trailing max loss?
Static: the lowest allowed equity stays at account size minus the max loss. Trailing: the lowest allowed equity moves up as your balance or equity makes new highs. Many trailing rules stop moving once the floor reaches the starting account size. Check your firm's own rules.
Is the daily loss counted from balance or equity?
It depends on the firm. Some use the balance at the start of the day, some the equity, some the higher of the two. Pick the option that matches your rules.
Does open floating loss count?
With most rules, yes: the check uses equity, which includes open trades. That is why a grid or martingale EA can break a daily limit before any trade is closed.
What is a consistency rule in a prop firm?
A rule that no single trading day may make more than a set share of your total profit, for example 20%, 30% or 40%. If your best day is too big, you usually need more total profit (from other days) before you can pass or ask for a payout. Each firm words it differently.
