Many "best AI tools" lists are long. This one is short. It has 13 tools that investors and MetaTrader EA traders can use for free today. For each one we opened the tool's own pricing or help page on 18 Oct 2026 and wrote down what the free plan really gives you. Free plans change often, so each card links to the page we checked.

Free plan: a limited free version "subject to available capacity and limits". When you hit a limit, you upgrade or come back later. Microsoft does not list the exact numbers on its pricing page.

MetaEditor AI Assistant
Built into MetaEditor (MetaTrader 5). It writes new MQL5 programs, finds errors, suggests fixes and explains code. You can also plug in your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama and others.
Free plan: using your MQL5 account "is currently available for free". Since Build 6140 (20 Aug 2026), the built-in provider has a 500,000-token context window.

Ollama
Runs open AI models on your own computer, so your code and data stay with you. MetaEditor can use it as a provider.
Free plan: running models on your own hardware is "always unlimited". Free also gets a small monthly amount of cloud usage on starter models, with 1 request at a time.

These are made by us. They are not AI chat tools, but EA traders ask for them, so we list them here and say clearly that they are ours. Our five free MetaTrader 5 tools have their own page.
Prop firm drawdown calculator Ours
Shows how much room you have left before your prop firm's daily and max loss, with static or trailing drawdown, and how many losing trades that is.
Free plan: free, works in your browser, no sign-up.
Gold grid calculator Ours
Shows how far gold can move before a grid EA breaks, and the floating loss at each step.
Free plan: the quick calculator is free with no sign-up. A fuller check (swap, spread, margin) is sent by email.
How we picked
- The tool must have a free plan, and we must be able to read that plan on the tool's own website. If we could not confirm the free plan there, we left the tool out.
- It must help with real investor work: research, reading reports, checking facts, or writing and checking EA code.
- No paid places and no affiliate links. Nobody paid to be on this list.
- We checked every free plan on 18 Oct 2026. If you see a change, tell us and we will update the page.
